Let’s build a better future for our children and grandchildren

In the July 11th issue of Time Magazine they reported on a TIME Aspen survey of a sampling of Americans.  The findings show that 9/11 is seem, by American as the single most important event of the last decade. Many questions were asked and information generated.  You can see the entire set of finding by going to this Slide Show.

Below is the slide #49 from the presentation and it really caught my attention.  If we project a pessimistic view of our children’ and grand children’s future we are not approaching this situation with a potentially fruitful approach.

Our hopes and dreams for tomorrow need to be compelling and we need to invest in those hopes and dreams to accomplish the real work of making those preferred outcome become reality.

Here are some thoughts about the future to consider:

The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”   Eleanor Roosevelt

When it comes to the future, there are three kinds of people: those who let it happen, those who make it happen, and those who wonder what happened.”  John M. Richardson, Jr.

Don’t be pushed by your problems. Be led by your dreams.” Anonymous

Losers live in the past. Winners learn from the past and enjoy working in the present toward the future.”  Denis Waitley
